Schiphol outage: 78 passport gates down for hours
On Sunday, October 18, a malfunction of Amsterdam's Schiphol airport's electronic passport control system knocked out 78 gates simultaneously. Border staff processed passengers manually, with some waiting in queues for up to 90 minutes.
