Balloons with smuggled cigarettes intercepted at Polish border

Border Guard officers from Sławatycz and police from Wisznic seized three connected weather balloons near Mazanówka (Lublin province) carrying an illegal cargo of 15,000 cigarette packs of various brands without Polish tax stamps, worth over 300,000 zł on the market. Smugglers used easterly winds to transport the cigarettes across the border without ground contact.
