British steel makers pay nearly 30 pounds/MWh more for electricity than France

Electricity prices in Britain have reached their worst level for steelworks in three years compared to EU rivals. The premium paid by British steel industry above French prices has risen to nearly 30 pounds per megawatt-hour. The cost increase results from rising gas prices on global markets following armed conflict between the USA, Israel and Iran, according to analysis by UK Steel lobby group.
