OpenAI announces its own humanoid robot, demo planned for 2027

Sam Altman confirmed that OpenAI will build a bipedal humanoid robot. The choice of human form is driven by pragmatism — the world was designed for human anatomy. A technology demo is planned for 2027, but mass deployment will take several more years. Robots are initially intended to support industrial manufacturing.
