Iceland: drilling near Krafla volcano magma chamber to transform energy?

Icelandic scientists plan to drill near the magma chamber of Krafla volcano to study extremely hot rock and assess whether energy can be extracted at large scale. The project will test whether this new form of geothermal energy can produce significantly more electricity than traditional facilities.
