PZL-Świdnik bids again for training helicopters for Polish military
Poland's military has yet to choose a supplier for helicopters to train Apache pilot instructors. PZL-Świdnik offers the AW109 Trekker, 80 percent locally produced, with final assembly in Poland agreed with Leonardo. Airbus's competing product (a German-French consortium) would have to be wholly imported. Andrzej Kuchta, head of Solidarność at Świdnik, warns of strong unofficial lobbying by Western European firms on Polish decision-makers.
