Polish scientists develop light sensor mimicking short-term memory

Researchers at Wrocław University of Technology and the Institute of Physics PAN have built a light sensor whose response depends on previously received light pulses — similar to short-term memory in the human nervous system. The technology may eventually be used in advanced camera design, among other applications. It is a step toward electronic systems that mimic how the brain works.
