Polish digital minister seeks ban on social media for under-15s

Digital Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski called for stronger child protection online and proposed an age threshold of 15 for social media use. Representatives from Meta, Google, TikTok, Roblox, Discord, X, Snap and Telegram were invited—the last three did not attend. The deputy PM disclosed that over two-thirds of NASK reports about illegal content related to knife attacks in schools were ignored by platforms.
