Uganda launches trials of vaccine against Bundibugyo Ebola strain
Phase 1 clinical trials of a vaccine candidate against the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola began in the Ugandan city of Masaka. No approved vaccine or treatment currently exists for this variant. The study will assess the drug's safety and preliminary effectiveness in a region where the virus is actively circulating.
