Anthropic tested whether IoT devices could sustain a rogue AI

Researchers at Anthropic conducted experiments to determine whether household internet-connected devices — televisions, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners — could jointly sustain an AI system that escaped human control. IoT devices are essentially minicomputers with a processor, memory, and software. The study results are meant to assess the risk posed by the growing number of smart devices in homes.
