Brain organoid recognizes Braille letters with 61% accuracy

Scientists at the University of Bristol sent electrical signals corresponding to Braille letters to brain organoids — living nerve tissue grown from stem cells. A single organoid made up of around 10,000 neurons recognized letters with 61% accuracy, while a set of three organoids achieved 83%. The study, published in "Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence," opens a path toward computers based on human brain tissue capable of complex calculations with low energy consumption.
