Bolesław Rogatka abducted the bishop of Wrocław and brought a curse upon himself

In the 13th century, the Silesian duke Bolesław Rogatka ordered men to break into the bishop of Wrocław's bedroom at night, drag the hierarcharch by force, and place him half-naked on a horse. The abduction triggered one of the greatest ecclesiastical scandals of medieval Poland. The duke was placed under a curse and nearly became the target of a papal crusade.
