IMF: crises since 2022 pushed 23 million into poverty
The International Monetary Fund reported in its World Economic Outlook published in Bangkok that economic shocks since 2022 have driven 23 million people into poverty. Low-income households are most affected, as they spend a larger share of their budget on food and essential goods. The IMF indicates that social policy in European countries has proven ineffective in mitigating the crisis's effects.
