USA wants to broadcast execution by firing squad live

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a plan to broadcast live the execution of Nidal Hasan — perpetrator of the Fort Hood massacre — by firing squad. The idea drew opposition from some Republican congressmen, clergy and international observers. It would be the first live broadcast of a US government execution in history; the last military firing squad execution in the US Army took place in 1945.
