Pulmonologist on Pope Leo XIV: decision on pilgrimage at last minute

Pope Leo XIV underwent surgery to remove the lower lobe of his right lung following detection of adenocarcinoma. A pilgrimage to South America is scheduled for November 6–17, but its fate remains uncertain. Pulmonologist Tomasz Karauda explained that treatment tolerance is unpredictable and a decision on the trip will only be possible at the last minute.
