New York to eliminate horse-drawn carriages from Central Park by 2028

New York City authorities announced the end of the horse-drawn carriage tradition in Central Park by 2028. The decision was accelerated by the death of 18-year-old Romanch Mahajan — a tourist from India who died in an accident during a family carriage ride in June this year. The tradition was over 150 years old.
