Tapeworm drug may help treat endometriosis

Scientists modified an antiparasitic drug used to treat tapeworm infection by equipping it with a nanotech coating that targets endometrial lesions directly. In a mouse study, the preparation reduced inflammation and slowed or halted the spread of lesions. Results were published in August in Advanced Healthcare Materials. The team is already working on advancing the drug to clinical trials.
