Poland's Cell Broadcast alert system to launch within a year

The Interior Ministry, Government Security Center and four mobile operators signed an intent letter on implementing Cell Broadcast in Poland. Minister Marcin Kierwiński announced the technology — allowing alerts to be sent directly to mobile phones without app installation — will launch within a year. The system is to warn citizens of threats such as floods or terrorist attacks.
