Former Ukrainian officer tried in Germany for Nord Stream sabotage
Serhij K., a former Ukrainian military officer, appeared in Hamburg court accused of organizing the operation that destroyed the Nord Stream gas pipelines in September 2022. According to prosecutors, he directed a group of Ukrainian agents, including divers and an explosives expert, who carried out one of the largest infrastructure sabotages in modern times. The operation resulted in cutting off Western Europe from a major source of Russian natural gas.
