GLP-1 drugs tested for addiction, depression and schizophrenia

Chemical compounds inspired by popular weight-loss drugs from the GLP-1 class (such as semaglutide) are being tested in clinical trials for treating addiction, depression, schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease. Researchers are investigating whether the mechanism of action of these substances could bring therapeutic benefits beyond weight control. The studies are at an early stage.
