Fameg from Radomska closes after 144 years, furniture industry in crisis

Poland's furniture industry is in severe crisis—companies are mass-laying off workers and shutting down. Among the casualties is Fameg of Radomska, a producer with roots going back to 1881. Michał Strzelecki, director of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Furniture Producers, warns that many firms disappear quietly and even large enterprises with long histories cannot survive market pressures.
