Integer overflow bug in XRP Ledger hidden since 2015 allowed token forgery

A integer overflow flaw has been found in the XRP Ledger payment engine, remaining hidden since 2015. The vulnerability theoretically could have allowed an attacker to create XRP beyond the total token supply limit. The bug has already been documented by security researchers.
