EU may end regular pesticide safety reviews: victims warn

The European Union is preparing to vote on a regulatory package that would eliminate mandatory regular safety reviews for most pesticides. Victims of pesticide exposure — including French farmers suffering from cancers — as well as scientists and doctors warn that harmful products could remain on the market longer. For decades, farmers were assured the products they used were safe.
