Burning waste on garden plots risks fine up to 5,000 zloty

Garden and allotment owners who burn branches, leaves and dried plant stems in spring face fines up to 5,000 zloty. The law prohibits burning plant waste, and in extreme cases the matter may go to court and result in imprisonment. The regulations apply regardless of season.
