China buys gold for 23rd consecutive month, moving away from dollar
The People's Bank of China increased its gold reserves by approximately 23 tonnes in September, extending uninterrupted purchases to 23 consecutive months. The current buying streak began in November 2024. Analysts say Beijing is systematically reducing its dependence on the US dollar, reshaping the structure of global financial reserves.
