Astronomers discover "phoenix": planet reborn around dead star

Astronomers for the first time observed an exoplanet orbiting white dwarf HS 0209+0832, located about 270 light-years from Earth. The planet survived its host star's death and was reborn after its collapse—scientists called the discovery "completely unexpected." The white dwarf remains extremely hot (about 35,000°C), suggesting the transformation occurred within the last few million years. The discovery may shed new light on the fate of our Solar System.
