Sejm debates 2027 budget: deficit exceeds 281 billion zloty

On Thursday, Sejm began debate on the state budget draft for 2027. Expenditures are to reach close to one trillion zloty, with a deficit exceeding 281 billion zloty. The government has planned record spending on healthcare and defence, as well as billions of zloty on social programmes. The size of wage increases for public sector employees has also been set.
