First testicular tissue transplant performed on teenager in UK
British surgeons performed the first testicular tissue transplant in UK history on a 19-year-old who became infertile after chemotherapy for a serious blood disorder. The tissue was collected and frozen three years before treatment, then later transplanted. The procedure offers hope to boys who lost fertility as a result of cancer treatment to have biological children in the future.
