Scientists reprogrammed patient's immune cells to fight cancer

Researchers at UC San Francisco developed a method to create CAR-T cells directly in the patient's body without extracting and modifying them outside. They used a two-component delivery system to bring CRISPR tools to T lymphocytes, where DNA was inserted at a precise genomic location. The method may replace the current procedure, which is slow and exceptionally costly.
