USA pressured EU and Canada to withdraw sponsorship from disinformation conference

The Trump administration pressured several countries and institutions to withdraw sponsorship from the annual #Disinfo2026 conference on combating disinformation. Canada, Lithuania, and the European External Action Service complied — sponsor logos disappeared from the website days before the event. The conference takes place Wednesday and Thursday in Vilnius, bringing together researchers, journalists and policymakers working against disinformation. It is organized by EU Disinfo Lab, an independent Brussels-based nonprofit.
