Tourist dies on Zawrat after refusing to use crampons

A young woman fell from Zawrat Pass in the Tatras and died despite a rescue operation by TOPR. A fellow tourist who witnessed the tragedy directly had warned her minutes earlier against entering the icy slope and offered to lend her crampons — she refused. The rescue operation was unsuccessful.
