Polish health ministry refuses funding for Oncotype DX breast cancer test

Poland's Ministry of Health and AOTMiT have decided that Oncotype DX multigene tests will not be covered by public funding in the near term. Up to 60 percent of early-stage breast cancer patients could avoid debilitating chemotherapy through these tests, which allow precise assessment of whether treatment is necessary. The decision has met opposition from medical professionals and patient organizations.
