CFTC announces crypto rules without waiting for Congress

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced on October 5 a preliminary notice of work on new regulations for the cryptocurrency market, without waiting for the fate of the CLARITY Act in Congress. The regulator intends to create federal frameworks for some digital asset trading platforms, using authorities it already possesses under existing law.
