Scammers impersonate Lublin Tax Office in fake emails
Cybercriminals are sending emails mimicking official tax correspondence, citing an alleged discrepancy in "tax reconciliation" and urging recipients to open a malicious attachment. The messages have the subject "Fwd: Sp. z o.o. NIP…" and are signed with the details of "Andrzej Z., senior tax expert". The fake emails are betrayed by a footer with the nonexistent name "Polska Tax Office in Polska" and a mismatch between the visible and actual sender address. Tax offices never send documents as unexpected attachments – such messages should be ignored and reported.
