Leak of 8.8 million Danish personal numbers largest in CPR registry history
Danish authorities reported that data on up to 8.8 million people — including CPR personal numbers, names, and addresses of living and deceased individuals — may have reached unauthorized persons. Local media called it the largest data breach in CPR registry history. The Danish personal number is widely used for access to public and financial services.
