China launches anti-dumping investigation against EU before trade talks
Beijing announced an anti-dumping investigation against the European Union days before scheduled trade talks between the two sides. The EU reports a trade deficit with China of around one billion euros daily and has nearly tripled the number of its own trade investigations. Brussels warns that without concrete proposals from Beijing, it will resort to "tougher measures".
