CERN: First direct observations of quark-gluon plasma from the Big Bang
Physicists from University of Illinois Chicago conducted an experiment at the Large Hadron Collider in which they directly observed a diffusion wake for the first time — a trace left by rapidly moving particles in quark-gluon plasma. This form of matter existed in the first moments after the Big Bang. The discovery allows better understanding of conditions at the beginning of the universe's existence.
