YouTube will curb reach of Shorts based on others' footage

YouTube is changing its Shorts recommendation algorithm to promote original content more and limit visibility of channels publishing mainly others' videos. Simply shortening a film or minor editing changes will no longer be enough to achieve high reach. The change will hit channels built on republishing others' content.
