Gasoline capped at 6.73 zł, diesel over 8 zł: government cuts fuel excise and VAT

From 3 October to 31 December 2026, new lower excise and VAT rates apply to fuels. VAT on petrol and diesel drops from 23 to 8 percent, excise on petrol from 1529 to 1239 zł per 1000 litres, and on diesel from 1160 to 880 zł per 1000 litres. Maximum price of 95 petrol the coming weekend will be 6.73 zł per litre. The state forgoes over 5.3 billion zł in revenue from these changes.
