Brussels considers exceptions to combustion engine ban after 2035
The EU's Tourism and Transport Commission (TRAN) will discuss next week a ban on new combustion-engine vehicles from 2035. A new proposal would exempt light commercial vehicles and some passenger cars from the ban. Adopting the proposal would not mean returning to current rules — certain emissions limits would still apply.
