Egypt arrests entire newsroom of independent outlet on Islamism charges
Egyptian authorities detained six journalists from an independent news service, accusing them of membership in the banned Muslim Brotherhood. The operation targeted the entire editorial staff and ranks among the most serious recent blows to press freedom in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood has been considered a terrorist organization in Egypt since that year.
