Proteins from bee silk may aid wound healing

Australian scientists are studying proteins found in silk produced by bee larvae as a potential ingredient in "programmable" wound dressings. Such dressings would respond to conditions in the wound and release therapeutic substances at the right time. Tests on mice yielded encouraging results and prompted researchers to continue the work.
