4,000-year-old fortifications discovered in Morocco on Oued Beht river
Archaeologists examined ancient fortifications on the Oued Beht river in northwestern Morocco. The structure — comprising a ditch, earthen rampart and wall — protected the southern part of a settlement and dates to approximately 4,000 years ago. The discovery shows that people of that era undertook advanced building projects in a period about which science still knows little.
