USA: Hundreds of thousands of legal immigrants to lose Medicaid from October 1
The "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" signed by President Trump will strip many legal immigrants of Medicaid access — a health program for low-income and disabled people — from October 1. Among those at risk are refugees and trafficking victims. Medicaid cuts are set to reach over 900 billion dollars by 2034, with effects broader than initially assumed. The law will also deny many immigrants ACA subsidies and Medicare access.
