Deaf couple in Lower Silesia had to find own sign language interpreter for wedding
A deaf couple from Lower Silesia wanted to marry before a civil registry officer and asked the office to provide a Polish sign language interpreter. Officials responded that it was not their responsibility and the couple should find an interpreter themselves. The Ombudsman took up the case and is investigating whether the office violated the rights of deaf people.
