Woman hid 40,000 illegal cigarettes in Dąbrowa Górnicza apartment

A 52-year-old from Dąbrowa Górnicza was detained by officers from the economic crime division and officials from the Customs and Tax Office in Katowice. Police found nearly 40,000 cigarettes of various brands in her apartment. The illegal operation may have cost the state treasury roughly 70,000 zlotys in unpaid excise tax and VAT. A court will decide on further penalties for the woman.
