Russia planned assassinations in US against Kasparov and other opposition figures

Russian services planned assassinations of opposition figures abroad, including former world chess champion Garry Kasparov and businessman Ilya Ponomarev — revealed Spanish newspaper "El Mundo". American services identified a group of five people acting on Moscow's orders and determined details of the tasks assigned to them. Russia has long used tactics of eliminating critics abroad.
