Kierwiński: new alert system without app requirement ready by September
Minister Marcin Kierwiński announced that a new civilian population alert system will begin operating by year's end — the app is technically ready and undergoing testing. The next phase, sending SMS warnings to phones in threatened areas without requiring app installation, is to be ready by September. Talks with mobile operators are ongoing. The minister noted that the alert system is one element of broader civil protection — including in the context of the inability to precisely predict where a drone will strike.
