Drunk driver crashes into lamppost in Żdżary; passenger killed, driver flees

On Tuesday, September 29, a 39-year-old resident of Kałuszyn drove a Peugeot into a roadside lamppost in Żdżary. A 30-year-old passenger from Kotuń municipality was killed. The driver fled but was detained by police — a test showed nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his blood. The man had been under an indefinite driving ban issued by the District Court in Mińsk Mazowiecki since October 31, 2022.
