Poland to lose NATO defense spending leadership to three Baltic states

Poland is allocating approximately 4.5 percent of GDP to defense this year, but three Baltic states—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—plan to invest even more, meaning Poland loses its lead in NATO, according to Rzeczpospolita. The arms spending race in the region stems from growing threat from Russia. Poland remains, however, one of NATO's largest contributors in absolute terms.
